A new pipe inside the old one
Sewer lining puts a flexible liner coated with resin into the existing pipe, inflates it against the walls and cures it in place. What is left is a seamless, jointless pipe inside the old one, with no trench across the lawn or the driveway.
It suits a line that is cracked, root-invaded or leaking at the joints but still holding its shape. A collapsed or badly offset pipe cannot be lined, which is why the work always starts with a camera inspection.
What sewer lining includes
Lining is a sequence: inspect, clean, line, cure, confirm.
- Camera inspection to confirm the pipe is a candidate for lining
- Cleaning of the line by jetting and descaling or pipe milling, so the liner bonds to the pipe wall
- Installation and curing of the liner, with UV curing where the line allows it
- Reinstatement of branch connections and a final camera pass
What the appointment looks like
Camera inspection
The camera shows whether the pipe can be lined. The line is then cleaned by jetting and milling or descaling, so the liner sits against clean pipe. That cleaning is part of the quoted price and is done with the liner, when the liner goes in.
A written quote
The length, diameter and access points set the scope. You get the cost before the liner is ordered.
The liner goes in
The line is cleaned, then the resin-coated liner is inserted through an access point, expanded and cured. UV curing shortens the time the line is out of service.
Confirmed on camera
Branch connections are reopened and the camera runs the full length to confirm a smooth, sealed pipe.
Three situations cover most calls
What sets the price is how much pipe is lined and how it is reached.
A section
One damaged stretch of pipe lined from an existing cleanout, the rest of the line left as it is.
The full run
The line from the house to the city connection, lined end to end.
Lining with repairs
A line that needs a spot repair or a new cleanout before it can be lined, priced as one job.
When to call for sewer lining
- Roots returning to the same joints after each clearing
- A camera inspection that shows cracks or separated joints
- A sewer line under a driveway, patio or mature landscaping
- Repeated backups in an older clay or cast-iron line
- Ground water entering the line and overloading it in wet weather
- A sewer repair quote that assumes the yard has to be dug up
Why customers call us for this
- Minimal disruption
- The work runs through small access points. Landscaping, walks and drives stay where they are.
- UV-cured for a faster return to service
- Capps uses liner technology that cures with UV light, so the line is back in use sooner.
- Only where it will work
- A camera decides whether lining is right for your pipe. If it is not, you hear that and the alternative.
